Welcome to Film Playground, a filmmaking academy based in the Columbus, Ohio area dedicated to nurturing the next generation of storytellers. Whether you're a curious kid, an ambitious teen, or an adult ready to explore your passion, we offer comprehensive classes taught by industry pros designed to ignite your creativity and equip you with the skills to succeed in the world of film.
Film Playground was founded by Columbus native David Burkman, an accomplished filmmaker and award-winning teacher with more than 20 years of experience in the industry. David holds an MFA in Film Production from The USC School of Cinematic Arts and his films have been at The Sundance Film Festival, on Prime Video, Hulu, and Netflix.
At Film Playground, our classes and workshops introduce the fundamentals in a way that supports both beginners and experienced creatives alike. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills, we’re here to help you grow.
